BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES. top |
Art and science are the cornerstones on which I've built my professional career. Originally I lead parallel careers as an exhibiting artist and as a biochemical researcher. I combined both interests in the position of Biochemist at the National Gallery of Art, where I developed and published analytical methods for the study of art. Still at the intersection of art and science, I began animating biomedical processes for textbook CD-ROM's and interactive Websites. I also give presentations to grade-school teachers and students on the science behind art materials. Ultimately, having grown up in South America, Europe and Africa, I bring a multifaceted perspective to each enterprise. My goal is to continue to present education concepts in an interactive visual format. |
